Overview Synopsis for Training Courses

Introduction to Windows 98/2000     -    ½day

This course is designed to enable people new to Windows to become more familiar with the main features.  Topics that will be covered include:

Ø      customising your desktop

Ø      using Windows Explorer

Ø      file management

Ø      Control Panel settings

 

 

Introduction to Internet & E-mail (using Outlook Express)     -    ½day

This course which is designed to provide the basic skills required to understand e-mail. Topics that will be covered include:

Ø      sending and receiving e-mail messages

Ø      setting up accounts

Ø      managing your e-mail

Ø      using the address book

 

 

Introduction to Word (1)     -    ½day

Microsoft Word 97/2000 will be used for this course which is designed to provide the basic skills required to understand your word processor.  Topics that will be covered include:

Ø      editing and formatting documents

Ø      paragraph alignment/indents

Ø      setting and using tabs

 

 

Intermediate Word (2)     -    ½day

Microsoft Word 97/2000 will be used for this course which is designed to provide the skills required to get more out of your word processor.  Topics that will be covered include:

Ø      using tables

Ø      headers & footers

Ø      making use of templates

Ø      using sections

Ø      mail merge

 

Introduction to Excel (1)     -    ½day

Microsoft Excel 97/2000 will be used for this course which is designed to provide the basic skills required to understand your spreadsheet package.  Topics that will be covered include:

Ø      spreadsheet design

Ø      entering data, text, values, dates

Ø      formatting

Ø      basic formulae

 

 

Intermediate to Excel (2)     -    ½day

Microsoft Excel 97/2000 will be used for this course which is designed to provide the skills required to get more out of your spreadsheet package.  Topics that will be covered include:

Ø      working with formulae

Ø      filters

Ø      cell referencing

Introduction to Access (1)     -    ½day

Microsoft Access 97/2000 will be used for this course which is designed to provide the basic skills required to be able to create a simple database.  Topics that will be covered include:

Ø      database design

Ø      creating tables

Ø      entering & editing data

 

 

Intermediate Access (2)     -    ½day

Microsoft Access 97/2000 will be used for this course which is designed to provide the skills required to be able to manage data in your database.  Topics that will be covered include:

Ø      creating forms

Ø      creating reports

Ø      designing queries

 

 

Introduction to Web Pages     -    ½day

This course is designed to provide the basic skills required to be able to create a simple web page and describe how to publish it onto the Web.  Topics that will be covered include:

Ø      basic web page design

Ø      creating a page for the Web

Ø      how to publish to the Internet
